Samuel Francis
Taber, Alberta, Canada. November 3, 1914
Blessing given by Hyrum G. Smith upon the head of Samuel Francis, son of, Johan and Rose Hannah (Titley) Francis. Born March 13, 1848 at Wednesbury, Staffordshire, England
Dear Brother Samuel Francis, according to they desire I place my hands upon thy head and as the spirit of the Lord shall direct me pronounce and seal a Patriarchal blessing upon thee.
The Lord has blessed thee many times and preserved thy life against evil and accident, sickness and disease. He has also seen thy trials and has heard thy petitions and has been much pleased with thy devotions. He has strengthened thy faith and caused thee to stand thus far with a firm and determined faith in His works and because of the devotion and they faith, His hand will continue unto thee to strengthen thee in thy ministry and help thee even to the end. He will bless and magnify thee according to they humility and diligence and thou shalt be the means in His hands of blessing and comforting the widow and the fatherless and many others who are in stress spiritually and temporally. Thou art of the lineage of Ephraim and thy life will be preserved yet a goodly number of years to fully accomplish thy mission and to do good among the children of men. Thy sons and daughters will maintain thy love and confidence and respect thy teaching to the end of thy days. And I say unto thee be not discouraged nor allow what seems to thee as thy weaknesses to stand in thy way. Continue to keep thy trust in the Lord and He will qualify thee for the duties of the office unto which thou art called to minister. The Lord will also bless the labor of thy hands that thou need not suffer for the necessities or comforts of this life, therefore let thy faith fail not, nor allow thy energies to be slackened in the service of the Lord and thru the power of the Holy Priesthood thou shalt rebuke the destroyer and His agents from kindred and loved ones. Therefore be comforted and rejoice in the blessings and thy privileges.
This blessing I seal upon thy head by virtue of the Holy Priesthood and in the name of Jesus Christ and I seal thee up unto eternal life to come forth in the morning of the first resurrection with thy kindred and loved ones. Even so. Amen.
